Picture this – for every hour a photographer spends with you, there are several more spent in prep, editing, and perfecting each image. In addition, travel expense, software fees, and hardware repair are distributed. It’s like an iceberg; what you see during the session is just a small part above the water.

Editing, it’s not about changing the reality of your photos but about enhancing their quality. Think of it as the difference between a stone in the rough and a finely cut gem. The editing process involves fine-tuning the lighting, balancing the colors, and making sure each photo reflects the best version of your moments. I rarely make changes to images to modify the context; like changing a colour or flipping a person around. The purpose of edits is to take the information collected by the camera, and use the digital tools to get the final result to be consistent, representative of the true scene. This can take a couple hours per hour on site.

Every photo session is as unique as you are. That means the editing and planning are tailored to your style and story. It’s about capturing the real, unscripted you and making sure your photos feel just as special as the moments they represent. These sessions can be in many areas, and generally our local hourly rate includes travel. This keeps the quotes simple, and equal regardless of specific location.
The tools and software are always changing. We want every session to be better than the last one, and the margin we do make on the sessions always goes towards the business. This is a passion and personal interest that I am trying to share, more than a business to make money. When the situation calls for a huge amount of work, you can expect a high price. When you just want to refresh your family photos, don’t worry about paying wedding photographer prices.

When you’re thinking about photography prices, remember it’s not just about the time you spend looking at the camera. It’s about the technology, expertise, and time we pour into every step of the process to try and make something great.
